Questa è la vera testimonianza di un’autentica esperienza di conversione. Il mondo che non dobbiamo amare è quella stessa totalità che, per usare un’espressione propria degli scritti giovannei, “… giace sotto il potere del maligno” (I Giovanni 5:19), cioè l’insieme delle forze avverse alla Verità e controllate dall’avversario del Signore.Īmare questo mondo, così com’è ora, pieno di ingiustizia e violenza, alienato da Dio e ribelle alla Sua sovranità, è del tutto impossibile per chi desidera “l’amore del Padre” e non scende a compromessi con il male.ĭ’altronde è una questione di scelta, di presa di posizione, di schieramento: da quale parte stiamo?ĭov’è rivolto il nostro cuore, le nostre attenzioni e i nostri interessi? Il mondo tanto amato da Dio è l’intero ordine della Sua creazione, al culmine della quale Egli ha posto l’uomo.Įgli ha dato il Suo Figliolo per redimere e ristabilire il genere umano nella sua posizione originale e mediante questi, ristabilire l’ordine nella creazione. Infatti, lo stesso apostolo, ispirato dallo Spirito Santo, scrive: “… Dio ha tanto amato il mondo.”, qui dice: “Se uno ama il mondo l’amore del Padre non è in lui.”. Se uno ama il mondo, l’amore del Padre non è in lui” (I Giovanni 2:15)Į’ sempre necessario distinguere chiaramente il significato attribuito alla parola “mondo” nel Nuovo Testamento. “Non amate il mondo né le cose che sono nel mondo.
